Nicknames: Vei, Goldie.

Species: Frost

Gender: Male

Talent: Making decorative things out of wood and metal.

Likes: Being alone and working on projects, hanging out with friends in between projects, wood, metal, fire, night skys, snow.

Dislikes: Being bothered while working, messing up, stones, being around a lot of people for too long, plain foods.

Fears: Cliffs, blizzards, not having a project finished on time.

Personality: Aurvei is a cheery pony with somewhat of a temper. If you make him angry, watch out. He takes his projects very seriously and often gets anxious of what people will think of the final project. He is quite intorverted, however he is will easily talk to customers, friends, and family. He can be very fierce when defending something or someone, and try his hardest to protect those he loves, to the point that if he had to, he would die for them. He appears very cheerful on the outside and around others, however, he often is hiding his real feelings. Ever since he lost his sister, he fell into a depression, blaming himself for the incident. He was tramuatised, and made a vow to protect anyone he ever grew close to. Aurvei has nightmares frequently about the incident and sometimes breaks into tears, however, he doesn't want to show these feelings to others and make them worried.

Background: Aurvei was born into a small village to his mother and father. A few years later, his sister was born. The two were very close and often would play in the snow together. He would often spend more time with his sister than other colts and fillies.

    One day, while they two where outside, they stayed out later than usual. They didn't notice and wandered further and further from their home. Aurvei noticed first how late it was first and suggested that they start heading back. It had started to snow and the wind was picking up. As they bgean heading back, the wind was getting stronger and the snow was falling more heavily. They were unable to see very well and were worried they were lost. Suddenly, Aurvei's sister slipped and fell. Aurvei turned quickly and saw her sliding down a hill. He dashed after her and saw her at the edge of a cliff. He tried to grab hold of her but didn't reach her in time, and she fell. Aurvei was found by a search party containing his father and a few of his father's friends a few minutes later, crying and looking down at the drop.

    Aurvei fell into depression after that, blaming himself for his sister's death. He wanted just to hide and cry, away from everyone, afraid he would hurt someone else. His parents were worried, but he told them he was fine. He hid his real feelings, masking them with happiness after his parents had finished mourning. Aurvei continued his life, faking happiness.

   After Aurvei had his Coming of Age ceremony, he decided he wanted to learn woodcarving and metalworking. Aurvei got pieces of wood and started teaching himself, looking at other's work and studying them. He asked around to see if any experienced blacksmiths were willing to teach him and soon found one. The blacksmith took him in as an apprentice and Aurvei learned quickly. In his free time, he would sit and practice carving, often carving animals from around the area.

    A few years later, he was able to work on his own as a blacksmith, having learned enough from his teacher. He didn't want to make tools or weapons, but instead wanted to wanted to make decourative things like statues, or parts for jewelery. Aurvei still continued his woodcarving, now quite experienced. He began to sell some of his statues of wood or metal, and started to get a reputation around the town. Soon, he had made enough money to get his own shop and he moved in there, continuing to carve and make statues out of metal.

    Now Aurvei spends most of his days working. If you were to enter his shop, you would find wood and metal statues of native animals or Windigos, and you can see him working on his next statue in the back.


I do hope that this stays within the rules of the Frosts. This was originally going to be a lot shorter of a bio, but I kept writing more on his background.
